Forest Heights Junior High School, located at 5901 Evergreen, was opened in 1955 and was named for the section of the city where it was located and the wooded area surrounding the school. The school has received a Restructuring Status from the Arkansas State Department of Education. The purpose of this restructuring is to establish a school climate, culture and curriculum that are responsive to the developmental needs of early adolescent youth and the particular needs of at-risk-students.
