Pulaski Heights Junior High School

1908 - 2001

93 Years of PANTHER Pride

In 1908, a small brick store was converted to a classroom and was opened to students as Pulaski Heights Junior High School, named after the area which it was located. During that year Lydia Dice sold a five acre plot of land to the Little Rock School District, and in 1909 a new four room building was erected. The building at that time was in the middle of the woods and accommodated all students within walking distance. Enrollment was up to 100 students and required two teachers, Mrs. Sevier and Mrs. Brooks. In 1921 the present school was built and opened, accommodating junior and grammar school students.
